And you remember when you were a few disdained as helpless on land, and you were afraid that men might abduct you, then He provided you asylum and strengthened you with His Help; He provided you with wholesome things so that you might become grateful.
In Mecca, the believers were a group of weaklings with Messenger. It is told in verse 17: 76 that the disbelievers were trying to uproot Messenger from Mecca; and if they do so, they will not be remaining therein after him except for a little while. The believers also feared that men will destroy them or scare them from the land. But the Exalted and Wise Lord Allah saved them so that they must be grateful and remembering Allah always.
Since today there is no group of believers anywhere in the world, there is no war in the cause of Lord. Today the odd-believer is commanded to live holding Adhikr as explained in verses 7: 205-206. Whoever holdfasts Adhikr—the Safeguard as mentioned in verse 5: 48—he is guided into the Straightpath as told in verse 3: 101. It is told in verse 30: 60 that believer who holdfasts Adhikr—the Confirmed Truth—shouldn’t be weakened by those who are not having the confirmed belief. See explanation 3: 79-80, 103, 143-148 and 7: 10.
